Dr Rau-Chaplin directs the Dalhousie University Risk Analytics Lab. Situated in the Faculty of Computer Science, the lab's core competencies are in high performance computing (HPC) and analytics, particularly risk analytics. Research projects explore the design and implementation of systems for quantifying, managing, and optimizing both individual risks and portfolios of risk with a particular focus on event based risk modeling, insurance and reinsurance analytics, natural and man-made catastrophic events and their potential impact, and applications in policy, planning, and emergency response.
This is an exciting announcement for the Willis Research Network, providing an area of expertise that supplements our existing activity and considerably strengthens the WRN’s Core Technologies and Platforms hub.
