The Review Magazine has published an article by WRN members David Stephenson (Reading University) and Kirsten Mitchell-Wallace and Kyle Beatty (Willis Analytics).
 
"Storm Clustering" provides a timely and expert review on the issue of storm clustering, which can potentially affect insurance retentions and other reinsurances. Events such as the 2004 hurricanes in Florida, the 1990 windstorms across Europe and the 1999 Lothar and Martin storms all testify to the potential impact of clustereed events on insured assets across the Northern Hemisphere.
 
The article focuses on clustering in the Northern Hemisphere, summarising research done by Prof. Stephenson and his team, partly through the support of the Risk Prediction Initiative. It also makes suggestions for future research in this increasingly important area.
