Fuzzy Decision Support System for Prioritization of Seismic Upgrading in Critical Infrastructure Systems
Published:

Type:
Paper
Fields:
Seismic
Authors:
M.B. Javanbarg, Willis Research Fellow, Kyoto University
C. Scawthorn, WRN Senior Acadmic, Kyoto University
S. Takada, Kyoto University
Summary:
Paper submitted to to ASCE conference (TCLEE 2009) to be held in Oakland in June 2009. The authors look at developing a fuzzy decision support system.
Description:
In general, the cost of seismic upgrading in a critical infrastructure system is large but the financial resources are limited. Hence, a priority list of infrastructure components for upgrading is necessary.

This paper develops a fuzzy decision support system (FDSS) for priority evaluation of the components upgrading in the urban infrastructure systems considering customers importance, component properties, hazard factors and economic analysis.
